Disciple Strength

The strength of any disciple of Jesus is the Holy Spirit. Jesus told us that when He ascended into heaven to be seated at the right hand of the Father, He would rule the world until His enemies are subdued. He then commissioned His disciples to do the work of evangelism to make disciples. He said that He would be with them, with us, always, in this endeavor and He then sent His Holy Spirit to enable us to do the the work.

            As we eat this bread and drink this wine, we acknowledge that our strength in the Lord Jesus. By faith in Jesus’s finished work, we receive the power of the Holy Spirit for salvation, Christian living, sanctification, and discipling the nations. In this meal, we show the Lord’s death on our behalf until He comes again. Foolishness to the world but the power of God to those who are being saved.
